Greta was feeling bored and had nothing to do. Every day, she would just eat, drink, and sleep, occasionally lamenting that her brain was becoming dull. When I mentioned this, she immediately expressed her willingness to take on the task of confirming whether Ashlee was pregnant.
"Alright, I will continue to investigate Ashlee in the following days and try to find a breakthrough to retrieve the negatives," I gratefully grabbed Greta's hand. "Greta, thank you!"
"What else is there to talk about between us? Let's go, come on, today I'll accompany you to the hospital to see your mom first." Greta swiftly grabbed a coat and then pulled me back to the hospital.
On the way, Greta specifically bought some nutritional supplements to bring along.
When we passed by Sam's ward, we found Emilia standing at the door. Her sky blue down jacket was slim-fitting and the color suited her very well, exuding her usual pure and beautiful temperament.
Greta, the cunning person she was, recognized Emilia just by her silhouette. Greta stopped in her tracks and exclaimed, "Oh my, isn't that the mistress?"
Greta didn't care about Emilia's true nature. After all, getting involved with a married man is being a third party.
Emilia heard our voices and immediately turned her head to take a glance, then squeezed out a smile and returned to the ward.
Just now, she seemed to have been staring at the door of my mom's ward. Could it be that Frederic has arrived?
"Come, let me tell you something," I said, pulling Greta to the other end of the corridor. I briefly recounted what had happened in the past few days and then instructed, "You must not stand up for me. I am aware of everything, and I don't mind. I am just waiting for the day when Frederic divorces me."
Greta's mouth grew wider and her eyes almost popped out as she took a while to digest my words. Her tone was filled with excitement and admiration, "Syl, are you saying that Frederic is refusing to divorce now?"
I nodded.
"Well done! No wonder you are so calm now!" Greta's joyful expression was as if she had won the lottery.
I had told a few of them when I was just reborn that I wanted to divorce Frederic, but it still hasn't happened until now.
Based on my previous temperament, it would have been Frederic who proposed the divorce, and I stubbornly refused to agree, so we kept dragging it on. Of course, they couldn't imagine that I was actually the one who took the initiative to propose the divorce, and Frederic didn't even agree.
With my prior instructions, Greta paid less attention to Emilia. When passing by Sam's ward, she just rolled her eyes inwardly.
I slowed down and glanced inside the door. Emilia was staring at the two of us passing by.
When I arrived at my mom's ward, Frederic indeed came.
For the first time ever, Frederic was peeling an apple for my mom. The ward was warm, and his coat was draped over the back of the chair. He was dressed in a vest suit that exuded elegance and sophistication.
Frederic saw me and Greta coming and handed the peeled apple to my mom gently, saying, "Mrs. Scott, I'm going to the company first."
"Okay, you're so busy yet you came to see me, that's thoughtful," my mom replied with a smile as she took the apple.
"Of course," Frederic said as he stood up and grabbed his coat. He glanced at me with his dark, meaningful eyes and added, "Call me if you need anything."
I knew it was directed at me. I didn't answer, but instead avoided his gaze and arranged the nutrition brought by Greta.
Frederic was not the type of person who would dwell on things, nor would he care about my deliberate ignorance. After he left the ward, Greta immediately followed to see if Frederic would greet Emilia.
I had reminded Greta not to let Emilia's matter slip in front of my mom. My mom is currently in a low mood, and if she finds out about Emilia's matter again, she might faint from anger.
