Chapter 147 Frederic's Jealousy and the Kidnapping Aftermath

I was pleasantly surprised, "I could also get up and pour water by myself."

He had just had a calm tone, but in an instant, it changed to a domineering tone, "If you're injured, just lie down properly. What's the point of showing off?"

Isn't it just pouring a glass of water? Is this considered showing off? I took the cup and silently drank the water, but in my heart, I was thinking about something else. Frederic is not really cold and heartless, but only the woman he loves can have his tenderness and care.

Emilia was really lucky, enjoying his tenderness every day and becoming his destined one.

"How did Leonel handle it?" I asked after finishing my water.

"Leonel was being detained at the police station and would be sentenced after going through the legal process. The minimum sentence would be life imprisonment," Frederic said in a flat tone. Suddenly, he changed the topic, "And what about Alberto? Did he confess about the plan to kidnap you?"

"Oh," I nodded, "That's good then."

Frederic sneered, "What's so good about it?"

I hesitated for a moment, the villain was punished by the law, isn't this a good thing? Frederic is truly a man who is hard to figure out.

He continued, "Was it good for you to leave your number to a stranger you met at a bar? Was it good for you to go watch a movie and have a barbecue with him?"

I was speechless. If it weren't for my vengeful mindset, deliberately seeking balance from others, I wouldn't have been attacked by Alberto.

Frederic asked again, "Why aren't you speaking?"

After a moment of silence, I asked back, "Frederic, are you jealous?"

I could sense his jealousy. But I didn't understand why he would be jealous. He had no feelings for me and we had agreed not to interfere in each other's love lives. As long as my ambiguous partner wasn't his friend, it was fine.

My counter-question seemed to embarrass Frederic greatly. He suddenly stood up and coldly said, "You're overthinking it, I just feel ashamed. So, I will control the media and public opinion about this matter. Otherwise, everyone will know that you went out and had an affair with a man and got kidnapped."

This was Frederic's true thought. The wife of a man with his status went out secretly with another man to watch a movie and have a barbecue, and she was even kidnapped. If this matter were to be revealed, his reputation would be severely affected.

"I knew," I had long been accustomed to his cold words. After this incident, I decided to repay Frederic's lifesaving grace, "Bring the divorce agreement early, I don't want a penny. Consider it as your reward for saving me this time, I value my life more."

The person who has experienced death once cherishes life the most.

"By the way, those photos were negatives, right? Could you bring them along for me?" I added.

Frederic suddenly became excited due to anger, and he took out those photos from his coat pocket and forcefully threw them onto my blanket, causing the photos to scatter everywhere.

His face darkened, and he turned around and walked away without saying a word. I stood there, confused.

What does this mean again? I received the photos, but where is the divorce agreement? I quickly picked up the photos and organized them, counting them one by one, not more or less than one.

I estimated that he wanted to modify the divorce agreement, so he didn't give it to me temporarily. I just suggested not asking for a penny, so perhaps Frederic needs to go back and make some changes again.

After I collected the photos, the heavy stone that had been hanging in my heart finally fell to the ground. My father's matter was resolved, and I could divorce Frederic. From then on, I no longer became the resentful Mrs. Hudson, but the carefree Ms. Scott.

After my dad learned that the matter had been resolved, he proposed to have a talk with me.

I quickly refused, not wanting him to know about being kidnapped and injured. So I made up an excuse and only chatted with him over the phone. My dad exclaimed happily, "Syl, I finally got rid of the injustice, otherwise it would have been difficult to restore my innocent reputation!"

"Dad, you should choose a man as your assistant secretary in the future. You're about to retire and yet you're still being manipulated. Ten years of reputation destroyed in just one day, it's not worth it," I said, while eating the grapefruit peeled by Greta, with a serious tone.

"I will definitely learn my lesson. But Syl, one day you should invite Frederic to our house for a meal. I want to thank him," my dad said.
