Chapter 155 Unrequited Love and Divorce: Syl's Emotional Journey

"Sorry, I thought you had fallen in love with me, so I was dragging on with the divorce. It seems that's not the case." I laughed candidly, not feeling embarrassed at all.

Frederic looked cold and expressionless as he sat across from me, smoking. I couldn't discern any other emotions from him.

I coughed as I choked. He got up and went outside when he saw it.

In this aspect, Frederic was still very gentlemanly.

After about a minute, I saw Frederic answer a phone call through the French windows and hastily leave.

At that moment, my phone also started ringing, it was Greta's call.

"Syl, come and have dinner!" she said mysteriously, "There's someone you wouldn't expect here too."

"Who?" I asked.

"Not telling you, hurry up and come over, I've sent you the location. If you don't come, I'll come to your house to pick you up!" Greta said excitedly and hung up the phone.

I looked at the time and indeed it was dinner time. So I instructed the servant not to eat at home after I left, and then I drove out.

After arriving at the destination, I pushed open the compartment door. I didn't expect Cecelia and Janessa to be there too. And sitting directly across from the door was a man in his early thirties, incredibly handsome and conventionally attractive.

He was Greta's older brother, Dylan.

Seeing me, Dylan was initially taken aback, but then his gaze softened. "Syl, long time no see."

"Dylan, when did you return to your home country?" I suppressed the embarrassment in my heart, put on a generous smile, and then sat down next to Greta.

"I had just arrived in the afternoon when Greta insisted on welcoming me, so I agreed to go out for a meal," Dylan's voice was steady, contrasting with Greta's temperament.

Greta's sister Yasmin was also there, and she smiled and said, "Greta invited everyone, how about you contribute some money?"

Dylan smiled and said, "No problem, it's all the same."

Cecelia and I were only children, while Janessa had a younger brother. However, Greta was the happiest as her siblings loved and cared for her deeply.

She smiled brightly, "My brother is very generous, he won't mind paying for this meal."

I lowered my head, pretending to play with my phone while drinking water. In reality, I was sending a message to Greta: "Are you doing this on purpose?"

Greta: "My brother is still single and he can't stop thinking about you. When I told him that you might be getting divorced, he immediately transferred his job back to our home country. Isn't that touching?"

Me: "I haven't divorced yet! And if I do, it would be my second marriage. Why are you trying to set a trap for your brother?"

Greta: "What's there to be afraid of? So what if it's a second marriage? My brother is already 33 years old and still single. What qualifications does he have to look down on you?"

I wanted to continue replying to her text message, but I heard Dylan ask me, "Syl, why did you become so thin?"

I had unrequited love for ten years and was practically a widow for five years. I was always melancholic, how could I not be thin?

I answered, "Maybe it's because I eat less, and I am currently trying to gain weight. I am also planning to go to the gym."

"By the way, I have been in the habit of exercising for the past few years. If you are planning to work out, you can hire me as your personal trainer," Dylan joked. "I can offer a 20% discount for friends."

As soon as Greta heard, she immediately signaled me with her eyes. She had a look of satisfaction.
