Chapter 172 Sylvia's Emotional Turmoil and Relationship Conflicts

I moved into this apartment, and he was even more unaware.

Frederic has been trying to win back Emilia these days. He had almost caught up with Emilia, but it was all in vain. It's really not worth it.

In the evening, I felt unusually lonely and cold staying alone in the apartment. I kept overthinking, so I decided to go for a drive.

On the way, I received a call from Dylan. It must have been Greta who gave him my phone number.

"What are you doing?" His voice was deep and gentle.

"Driving aimlessly." I wandered around without a purpose. As I looked at the night scenery around me, I answered.

Dylan should have seen that news as well, but he didn't ask directly. Instead, he tactfully said, "How come you're driving around aimlessly alone? Are you feeling upset?"

I was feeling extremely miserable. Everything was going perfectly, seemingly leading me and Frederic toward the end and the beginning of a completely different new life from the previous one. But I was just very restless.

"Um," I muttered sullenly.

"Do you want to go to an open-air concert?" Dylan asked again. "There's a concert at Waterwall Square. We can still make it if we go now."

I was at a loss for where to go, so I readily agreed.

Half an hour later, Dylan and I met at Waterwall Square. It was an open-air concert. The wind was cold, but everyone's hearts were warm. Under the lighted fountain, young musicians from a campus band held their instruments, getting ready to sing.

Most of the people who gathered to listen to the music were young. There were also people discussing the members of the orchestra, who were from Aroma University.

I squinted my eyes and recognized one of the girls. She had accompanied Emilia to the bridal shop to rent a wedding dress. I had seen her once.

She seemed to have noticed me too. There was hostility in her eyes. The cello in her hands became the tool for her to vent her hostility. She emphasized several notes, which annoyed the conductor, who glared at her disapprovingly.

Unconsciously, Dylan and I stood in the cold wind for a long time. It wasn't until the performance ended that I took out my phone to check the time. I found that Frederic had called me twice again. I didn't answer.

"I'm going to make a phone call," I said to Dylan, and then I went to the side to dial the phone.

Frederic quickly answered the phone, but did not speak.

I asked, "Why did you call me?"

After a few seconds of silence, Emilia's voice rang out, "Sylvia, it's me."

Now it was my turn to be silent.

"These past few days, Frederic has been taking care of me. You should ask him to go back. I can't bring myself to do it. I also know that this cannot continue. I'm afraid of being misunderstood again," Emilia's voice was very soft.

"If you're afraid of being misunderstood, then don't go looking for trouble. If you go looking for trouble, then don't inform Frederic and me. If you inform us, then don't go out of your way to arrange for someone to secretly film. That way, you won't be misunderstood, right?" I retorted.

Emilia was left speechless by my retort. I calmly said, "If you think you can deliberately show off Frederic's persistence and concern for you, then you're really mistaken. I have already filed for divorce, and he will probably receive the summons in a day or two. Instead of bothering me, you should think about how to make his family accept you."

I hung up the phone after I finished speaking.

In the previous life, Emilia was not exposed like she is now. Frederic protected her well. In the eyes of my parents-in-law, she was also considered a naive girl who was difficult to pursue by Frederic. That's why they could accept her later.

It's different now. My relationship with Evie is closer than in my previous life. Emilia also early on showed some signs that were unlikeable.

So it wasn't easy for Emilia to enter the Hudson family.
