Chapter 189 Frederic and Emilia Relationship Conflict in Maple Villa

Frederic took me directly back to Maple Villa. He sent all the servants home.

I asked wonderingly, "Why don't you let a servant stay to clean and cook? You can pay him more."

"There was no one at home. Why would I need a maid?" Frederic placed me on the couch and then crouched down to remove my shoes and check for any sprains.

I felt a bit uncomfortable, so I withdrew my feet. "Can you bring the medicine box for me? I can do this myself."

Frederic, however, said lightly, "Which part of your body haven't I seen or touched? I'm just checking your foot injury."

I remained silent for a few seconds and then replied, "I'm not shy. I just don't need you to be so good to me."

"Why?" Frederic looked up at me.

I answered him, "Frederic, you just took Emilia back and then came back to find me. Don't you think you are fickle?"

I thought, "Last night he should have been in Crocus City. The earliest time he would come back to Aroma City is this morning."

As soon as he came back, he went to find Emilia and escorted her home.

"Every New Year in the past, I used to urge him to come back to Aroma City and have a meal at my house."

"It was obvious that Emilia was more important to him."

Frederic frowned. "I said I would find a way to handle Emilia."

"How did you handle her? Did you want to hide her away or cut ties with her, never contacting her again?" I asked.

Frederic silently looked at me.

I knew he hadn't made up his mind yet. Emilia was too special for him, and I had also become different to him. He hadn't decided who his heart belonged to.

"Never mind. Talking to you gives me a heart attack." I stood up and limped to get the medicine box.

Frederic placed me on the sofa again and silently brought the medicine box. After opening it, he handed it to me.

I took off my shoes and socks. My left ankle had already become red and swollen. I wiped it with antiseptic solution and then applied a bandage.

Frederic watched from the side, without wanting to help me.

"You took me to the Berger's place," I said to Frederic after I put on my shoes.

"No," Frederic refused firmly.

"You had to take me there!" I said firmly, "If it weren't for your loud arguments, how could I have gotten hurt? If it weren't for you, I would have been at the Berger's place by now. You have to take responsibility!"

Frederic smirked coldly. "So, do I have to send you to another man's house?"

I got angry and said, "That is my good friend Greta's house. Frederic, your jealousy is unfounded."

"Dylan used to pursue you, right?" Frederic ignored my words and sat down. "After he found out we were getting divorced, he wanted to continue pursuing you, right?"

"What? You have an admirer. Can't I have some luck too?" I replied angrily, then took out my phone and called Greta.

I wanted to call Greta to pick me up. For me, being alone with Frederic was not as good as living with the Berger family.

After the phone was answered, I asked, "Greta, do you have time to come and pick me up at Maple Villa?"

"Okay, wait for me a moment!" Greta readily agreed.
