Chapter 194 Frederic and I: Conflict and Injury

I furrowed my brow but still answered the phone, "Is there something wrong?"

I thought to myself, "Please hang up the phone quickly, don't delay me from making an emergency call."

"What are you screaming about?" Frederic unexpectedly asked.

"What the hell do you mean?" I am currently sitting on the floor in a disheveled bathrobe, answering the phone. I was already in a bad mood. "You're the one who's making a fuss! If you have something to say, just say it. I'm busy."

Frederic paused and said, "I was at your apartment door, you opened it."

I suddenly realized that Frederic had actually heard my ghostly scream.

I didn't even think about it and refused, "I'm not available to see you now, please go back."

"If you don't open the door, I will have someone unlock it directly," I thought Frederic was shameless.

"Are you sick? It was supposed to be a good vacation, but you didn't leave me alone for a single day!" I really don't want to see Frederic now. Just the thought of Lillian and Emilia makes my heart feel like it's being pricked by needles.

I even somewhat understood in my previous life why my parents-in-law accepted Emilia so quickly. Perhaps they felt that they had already destroyed Frederic's first love and didn't want to be so ruthless the second time.

I felt like a fool from beginning to end, knowing nothing and still clinging to Frederic.

"Why don't you continue staying at the Berger's place since your foot is sprained and it's inconvenient for you to live alone?" Frederic asked again.

Frederic seemed to be concerned about me, and I replied indifferently, "I would come back whenever I wanted to."

"Did you fall down? What's the password? Let me in," Frederic added, threateningly. "Otherwise, I can get someone to unlock it pretty quickly. But then you'll have to change the lock."

I knew Frederic would walk the talk, and I do need someone to help me up right now. In comparison, Frederic is more suitable than emergency personnel.

But our password was Frederic's birthday and we never changed it. I feel embarrassed to say the password out loud now.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of the password lock being opened. Then, there was a faint laughter from Frederic.

I took a deep breath and hung up the phone.

Soon, the sound of Frederic's voice came from outside the bathroom door, "Are you in there? I'm coming in."

The door was pushed open by Frederic. As he lowered his head, he saw me sitting on the ground.

After staring at each other for a few seconds, Frederic squatted down and said, "You were already limping, why did you take a bath?"

"Is it illegal for a cripple to take a bath?" I asked coldly.

"That's not necessary. Get up," Frederic extended his hand, gesturing for me to grab hold.

I wasn't hesitant either. After I placed my hand on top, he tightly grasped my palm, almost enveloping my entire hand.

As I struggled to get up, I explained to Frederic, "That password was set during my college days. I recently moved here and haven't had a chance to change it yet."

"Um." Frederic had no reaction.

"Ah!" As soon as I stood up, my right foot also hurt terribly. I instantly fell down again.

Frederic quickly pulled me into his arms, using his body as support. However, he accidentally banged his back against the door frame, and I could hear the dull thud.

The whole thing was mainly my fault.

Frederic remained silent and simply carried me to sit on the bed.

After Frederic checked my right foot, he told me, "It's symmetrical."

"Hmm?" I was a bit lost in the awkwardness just now and didn't snap out of it.

"Your sprain has worsened. Your right foot is also swollen," Frederic told me as he stood up.

I was speechless, "What the fuck is this dark humor..."

I had no gratitude towards Frederic, instead I asked displeasedly, "What are you doing here?"
